Our Story

The Story Behind Our Mission

Hi, I'm Felicity Scott, founder of Terezah Academy.

I am the woman I am today because my family pours into me. My mother, Minister Dannette Scott, teaches me that acts of service are love in action, giving to others without ever asking for anything back. My father, Percy Scott, a former member of the legendary, award-winning R&B group The Whispers for 29 years, shows me steadiness: his hard work, his protection, his unwavering belief in me. My grandmother, Mary Owens, helped raise me, and in her later years I had the honor of caring for her the way she once cared for me. And my sister, Dr. Teresa Flynn-Everett, continues to inspire me with how boldly she expresses herself, her wisdom, and the way she beautifully speaks life into everyone she knows.

Through each of them, I have learned that love given freely always finds its way back. That's why I believe spaces like Terezah Academy matter for young girls.

My sister's wisdom is a cornerstone of our curriculum. Together, we built Speak Rivers Move Mountains, our nonprofit whose work is the foundation of our She's Becoming curriculum. We believe a girl who learns to reflect on who she is, not who she's told to be, carries that with her forever.

This academy is a testament to my family: my mother's service, my father's steadiness, my grandmother's love, my sister's wisdom. It's dedicated to everyone who pours into me, because when someone speaks life into you, it doesn't just change a moment. It changes your whole story, and helps you find your wings.
